Innovative Pathways in STEM and STEAM Education: Trends, Frameworks, and Global Perspectives from PK-16
The International Society for Technology, Education and Science (ISTES) invites chapter submissions for an edited volume focused on innovative practices, research, and conceptual frameworks in STEM and STEAM education. The book will be published by ISTES in January 2026, and will be indexed by and submitted to different databases such as ERIC.
We welcome contributions from educators, researchers, and practitioners worldwide who explore dynamic trends and developments in STEM and STEAM education. Submissions may address all grade levels from early childhood through higher education and may take the form of:
- Empirical research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)
- Conceptual frameworks or theoretical analyses
- Literature reviews
- Position papers
- Practitioner-based studies
Chapter Topic Suggestions:
We encourage submissions on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Innovative pedagogies in STEM and STEAM education
- Global perspectives and practices in STEM/STEAM
- STEM and STEAM across PK-16 educational settings
- Curriculum design in STEM-focused schools and programs
- Engaging diverse learners through STEM and STEAM
- Professional learning and teacher preparation in STEM/STEAM fields
- Conceptual models, assessment strategies, and frameworks for teaching and learning
- The role of STEM/STEAM in environmental and sustainability education
- Socioscientific issues and civic engagement through STEM and STEAM
- Emerging technologies, AI, and robotics in STEM/STEAM education
- STEAM as a pathway to developing a sense of belonging for all learners
- STEM and STEAM as conduits for creating innovative learning environments
- Integrated models: STEAM, STREAM, METALS, and other interdisciplinary frameworks

For theoretical/conceptual papers, reviews, or practitioner-focused chapters:

- Research problem or educational challenge

- Overview of relevant literature and/or evidence
